Uhh..... Sorry but I dont see where I said you didn't have any experience(read the second sentence of post #17). I dont know why you guys are acting so sensitive; you gotta quit being so disgruntled. Its like you're wearing glasses that only allow you to see red (you're interpreting everything as an attack). Take em' off once in a whie, you might be missing something.... I've read some of your material and have respect for you but aren't I allowed to disagree? If everyone here just agreed with everyone else, it wouldn't be much of a discussion would it?

About the pointers, if you remember, it's probably ensuring maximum compatibility, too, between platforms, so that different-sized pointers, and far pointers (real far pointers with a segment selector) can be implemeneted transparently to the Java app.
