Which one interests you more, its your career. I know i wouldnt want someone to pick an option to go along with my B.Sc. This choice is likely the field you will be entering when you get finished with school, so come up with a decision yourself.
And yes, they do sound boring. The options at my University are, Software Engineering, Digital Hardware, and a business option. |

Of the two, I'd go with: Database Management + Information Security
I went with Software Engineering and Artificial Intelligence for my emphasis.

about the database management - actually I agree, I actually have no interest in all that database thing. but it goes 50% for databases, and 50% for information security - which I am interested in.
the signal processing thing also interest me, at least in theory... I heard there's lots of math and complex-numbers involved, which sets me off a bit... |

I've had my hands on some database managment tasks before... its not just a drag-and-drop assignment like one may think... the design, optimizing, etc could be quite "entertaining". Also, do not forget that there is also programming involved in DB management as well. As noted above, database administrators make a LOT of money. What is the most valuable asset the company has? Its data... think about it. Without data, there would be no need for security or programs.

Well DB managament can be a bit interesting at times, but I would rather be coding any day. DB admins do a bit of coding, but not really.

I'll say it here too, keep in mind that what you do in college is your entry point to the work force not your destination. Once you have your degree you'll be able to move around quite a bit. Do what you enjoy in class, do the same for your job and you'll be fine.
