Testers (Voluntary positions only)

Im currently looking for two testers to test a software application for fast food restaurant. The application has been programmed using the visual basic 6 language.

Upon recieveing the program I would like a report which contains the following: GUI usuability, errors whilst using the program and possible improvments for the future. The estimated time for this testing is a 1-3 hours.

I don't have any funds to pay for your time. If you are interested then please contact me via PM or through my msn contact located on my public profile. Thanks alot.

I can't do it, but I do want to tell you this is the most sensible and informative approach to this sort of thing that I've ever seen. Did my crochety old soul good.

I can't either, but I agree with DaWei on this one.

If you can wait till Thursday, I can give it a go. I'll even send it to a mate of mine who works in McDonald's and ask him what he thinks of it.

this soulnds interesting, i wish i could participate.

our register system at mcd's is somewhat counterintuitive and can be downright confusing for some...especially customers, for example:

in most drive-thru's there's an lcd montor that displays the current order. if they say "i want a big mac no onions" that's fine, you press grill, mac, no, onion, print. fine, that works, then they say "oh, sorry i meant no pickle". alright...you hit mac,grill,mac,no,pickle,print,1,mac. then the moitor displays:

1 big mac (price goes here)
0 no onions
1 no pickle

then you've got people saying "no i just want one big mac"...jesus, please why...

i think the biggest reason for the confusion is that the register keys can be modified on a local level since most mcd's are franchises (not corporately owned restaurants). therein lies the problem of allowing unschooled individuals access to modifying the contents. personally i believe that they should just allow owners, etc. to download packages in a standardized context rather than let them dink around with the fucking buttons on that level. the owner i work for has three stores, the register keys are different in each store. when training new people i always ask them to think about driving downtown in a big confusing city, at one time, the street system made sense, then they kept adding, and adding, and adding...
