Ok, the internet browser connects to the server but the message is not displayed on the screen, all that is displayed is this:

"HTTPacccontcon<htm"

I dont have the code with me at the moment, but it will be posted soon.

You may want to consider a packet sniffer such as Ethereal or Ettercap to get a definitive answer as to what is being sent over the wire. You might even fire up your browser on a known working site for examples of what HTTP is supposed to look like without bothering with an RFC.

That's what I did, I used telnet so I could see the HTTP headers.

I wasn't criticising your approach. In a C/C++ coding forum, people are inclined to help out with suggestions of alternative codeing techniques.
