Kid you are stupid; you’re talking about making games on the level of Doom3. It took a team of some of the worlds best coders, graphic designers, project managers and so on, to make that game. I have taken courses at College and University for years now and still would not be good enough to be on a team for a game of that magnitude. And how the hell do you think you are going to get people that are that good to work for a fucking 13 year old who's parents are funding the project. HAHAHAHA

@gamedude9003. yeah examples and layed out ideas would help. umm 100-125 ppl is gonna be insane to handdle. you might want to check this place out http://www.goldeneyesource.com/ they kinda did what your talking about, but they are running a steam mod. developing your own graphics engine is goign to hard, extreamly hard if your going doom 3/quake 4. you could buy one but you would have to learn how to script it. know it wont be you coding this but others. still you gonna need a but load of experts with lots of time. and lots of free pretlzes and gummy bears :banana:

@King yeah i know sr.'s in CS who did a game for their final project. took them a whole 2 simesters to get some things close to a working demo. and that was 7 of them doing all of it broken into catagories of math, net,light/texture, gerneral graphics, engine. really hard.

Hehe, this reminds me of a funny quote from a ShadowRun rulebook (SR being an old pen-and-paper RPG in a circa 2050 setting from the now-nonexistent FASA Corp). Many of the books presented game mechanical stuff in a format mixed with flavor information, such as posts on a fictional BBS or forum. One of the technologies was the 'skillwire' system, which consisted of the 'wires' (implanted connectors to stimulate nerves and muscles) and the jacks for the 'skillsofts' (chips that you would insert into the jacks, containing recorded neural patterns which essentially let you 'know' a skill). One of the quotes I remember went something like this:
Quote:
Word to the wise: make sure your skillsofts are labelled and catalogued correctly. It's really unwiz to slot Advanced Taiwanese Pastry IV when what you really wanted was that gunnery soft.

Why the hell then do you think I'm starting this early I'm not expecting in the least bit to get this thing done in 2 years. I am GREATLY expecting it to take a few years to get this done, but one thing I am not needing is people like you trying to bully and hold me back.

I bet it will be insane, but I can handle it, trust me, I know my limitations and 100-125 people isn't one of them. I understand how hard this is gonna be, and am still debating on whether to develope my own graphics engine or just go and buy one, cuz I am a fast learner at stuff like that. Right now also, I'm using my engine for movies to try and put something together that I can show you, it is taking time, a lot of repeated music, time (did I say that?), and patience. I am hoping to get this done by July at the latest but I am going to show you where I am with what I am studying right now.

Lets not flame him. Calling him stupid is going a bit overboard.

Gamedude, it does seem like you are asking for too much in return for nothing.

Look, I know it doesn't seem like much right now, but you WILL get paid it won't be right away I am sorry for that, but as I said once we get this going I may have us do an online game or 2 along the way, or maybe just do one first so that we can make our members area to be bringing in some money while we work on the big project. In fact thats a good idea, we will do an MMORPG first to bring in the cash for rescources and then we'll work on the game. So also, do any of you know how to code in networking for a game?

Yes though, I am sorry that for right now we have nothing to pay you with until we get our MMORPG out, also we may have a change in color and the name because Aye Aye Productions? I am thinking it over, and it does sound kinda like crap, so I will keep you posted on that.

To get a decent MMORPG out that will bring in money to pay people will take years. And if you plan on taking 4 years to make a game, by the time you get it out, it will be out dated. I take back my stupid comment; you just don’t have the experience to know what you’re getting into, and just don’t get it. Come back after you are an experienced coder yourself, maybe after taking some college or university. Right now you should be learning how to code, not trying to organize some huge game that isn’t possible at this stage in your life. Like you talking about making a MMORPG, do you even know network programming in C++ yet? I highly doubt it, at least at the level you need to be to start organizing a huge game. You need to learn all these skills b4 you even have a clue on how to organize a project of this magnitude. But your enthusiasm is great, and if you keep that in the next couple years as you go through school and learn the skills needed, you will succeed. You just need to take it a step at a time.

I'm sorry it sounds like BS as I re-read all of this I can see where you are coming from, but I assure you it isn't, just no proof which again probably and way most likely doesn't help improve my odds... and we're going to spend more than 2 years on it most likely I can tell ya that.
That just cracked me up.

@gamedude9003: Good luck.
