Installing PHP mcrypt extension...
I tried to install the PHP mcrypt extension this weekend. I downloaded the libmcrypt package, decompressed it, and followed the directions (eg, ./configure, make, make check, make install, install, etc.). What am I supposed to do next with the "made" file on my desktop? (I am running Mac OS X.) Does anyone have experience with this sort of thing? Do I have to drag the "made" folder somewhere and execute additional commands? Somehow I messed up my installation of PHP in the process so I have to wipe my drive this weekend and reinstall. Thanks for the help.

You probably need to move the library (*.so) to {php install root, probably /usr/ or /usr/local/}/httpd/modules/ and add a LoadModule line in /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf.
