J2me

Hi,

I'm a new member to the forum I hope we spend an interesting time together.

I have some questions:
1. Does J2ME differ from J2SE or J2EE in the programming side?
2. How can start using it? Is there any special software?

Yes, IIRC J2ME lacks floating point arithmetic, reflection and user class loaders. I believe there are several other things it's missing as well

You need an SDK of some kind. Quite a few mobile phone companies do them, and Sun have one too (though I hear Sun's one is very basic in comparison to the others).

There's one for the Nokia 6310i here. J2ME apps are mostly device independant, so what works on one device should (in theory!) work on other devices as well. The 6310i is as good a device as any for testing purposes, but feel free to hunt around for other J2ME SDKs.

IIRC, everything direcly related to the console is also gone (i.e. System.out, System.in, etc...)
