Egypt...neural networks...Egypt...neural networks. I think I'll combine the two ideas. I'll go to St. Maarten and try to subvert some cute honey's neural network with a few Mai Tais....

Going to apply for Google Summer of Code. Probably won't get in, so I signed up for the
Dragon SHMUP game programming competition (http://shmup-dev.com) . I'm also working 50+ hours a week, so I can't add on too many programming projects.

I'm doing this over the summer: http://www.ecf.utoronto.ca/apsc/html...-overview.html
Specifically, the Electrical and Computer engineering courses. Game programming with C, microchip design, and for a little variety, medical imaging (if I get my first choices). Should be fun ![]()

I'll be working here over the summer helping them redesign their databases and updating old queries. (Had about a day to learn ColdFusion, good thing its pretty easy).
Plus I have my own programming language project that I've rewritten many times (have been through several VMs, now trying to build a compiler that outputs NASM) which I'll work on when I have absolutely nothing else to do. |

I plan on finally getting my "website in a box" (term coined by Rory) going. Should take approximately forever and a bit.

I will try to code some over the summer, keep ViewpointKiller updated and as stable as possible, and learn learn learn more about the Win32 API. Also (non-programming related) I am going to learn how to read and diagnose HijackThis logs, so that I can help out at SpywareInfo's forums.

I'm going to my friends cottage outside of Toronto this summer...*drools*
I can assure you right now, there's never going to be another time in my life where I go back to school saying "What the **** did I do last summer?" After when I get back to my house, my brother won't be in my room at all because he's going to the states during summer and we share a room, so that's a dream come true for me. Once I get bak to my place, I'm just going to be coding, and whatever else I feel like.

hm I started doing an OS myself about a week ago. I had been reading alot on OS design and implementation. Though I dislike the idea of vapor-ware I stopped working on the OS to start working on a program that simulates routers and switches and other networking devices. I just started working on it today. Basically all devices, including the media (cables), will be simulated by software servers. I'm starting with a router and cat5 cable. I'm writing the router in C++ and currently thinking of writing the cat5 simulator in python.
As for the OS. All it does is boot and create and load a GDT and an IDT. it also calls global and static constructors for C++ objects as well as their destructors before the kernel ends. I will probably resume work on it after I'm done with the other program. an OS is just too much work. If anyone is interested in helping in any of the two I'm open to help from others. |

My main plan is to revamp my website using Ruby on Rails and switch it to a CSS-oriented design, allowing people to submit their own styles (see: CSSZenGarden.) In the mean time I'll also be planning a project that going to be fairly big, in fact its planning *alone* is probably going to take well over several months of research and testing.
