I think you might be able to, (if you are running FireFox) AdBlock it and you won't see it and PFO can still keep it. I like the banana, it doesn't really bother me when I'm reading posts. :p

Yeah, good idea Prm. Just filter the image's link. That should solve the problem.
Don't be too mean though. It could hear you. As long as you haven't disclosed your house address somewhere on these forums, you should be safe. I don't mind it, but what I really want is one of those smilies that holds a sign that says "I'm with stupid" and it has an arrow pointing up...hehe. There are some other ones that are pretty funny too.

It isn't the banana, per se, it's the mismatch to the usual OP's opening post. If we had a matched set, say, one yelling "HELPPPPPPPPPPPP", one saying "Duh!", and one whining for a sugar teat, then it'd be different. Or maybe the following:
