Smile How much do you hate Internet explorer?

Sometimes, I feel it's out to get me. I don't use it for web browsing. The only thing I use it for is web design. Because it's the most used browser, you have to make sure the site works best in it. Is it just me, or does it get really hard to make a webpage that looks the same in firefox, and IE, let alone include Netscape and Opera (ever though their close to FF). I admit, I'm not the best web designer, but I find that sometimes it just doesn't make sense. I use CSS for layouts, and for me, it becomes a problem when things get complex, and then IE displays differently from FF. I'm sure in some cases it's just me, especially on those late nights when im tired, and it seems like 1 minute it works, and the next it doesn't yet I haven't changed anything. Does anyone have similar problems? It simply pisses me off. This past weekend is when it struck me and hit me the hardest. I know I've said this before, but this is officially official. I officially hate Internet Explorer. Windows is one thing, Microsoft is another, but Internet Explorer is a whole different story. Luckily, I don't write hatemail, else it would have it's own post office dedicated to mail from me. As for myself, I am lucky because I don't get very tempermental and start throwing stuff around, else I'd probably be broke due to replacement computer parts.

Anyways, what do you guys think?

IE is not a well- or properly-implemented browser. In that regard, it sucks. It's used by the large majority of real-world surfers; in that regard, it doesn't matter one whit if it sucks. If you can't deal with it without having a hernia, turn to janitorial work or stay out of the real world. What can I say?

I'm calm and patient, so I can deal with it, but usually have to blow off some steam. Just wondering if anyone shares the same hatred for it. You can hate something and still use it. Screw janitorial work, trades is the way to go these days.

I don't really like it, but for the most part its used by more people then the alternatives. But I am happy to say that the majority of users that visit this site use Firefox instead of IE

Firefox 54.4 %
IE 37.4 %
Opera 3.7 %
Safari 1.3 %

heh. It seems IE is not an option for me anymore, since I have a Mac. But when it was an option, I did the best I could to avoid using it. I also hate it when I use it on other people's PC's. How can one of the largest companies in the world not have a decent browser?

I'm one of those 54.4%! Opera is pretty good too though I rather use Firefox over everything.

IE 7.0 will be a challenge to FF. Given the relative popularity of IE 6.0, add the tabbed browsing and nice looks and you got a new favorite.

Well, I hope they make IE 7.0 better because when I tried it when I installed vista, I just ended up installing firefox after about 10 minutes. It does look nice though.

I agree with you there. Back to the forum though... Why isn't there a choice on the poll for people who do not hate IE. I know I know you're probably gonna say you didn't know there were people who like IE, but there are.
Because this thread is about how much people hate it. Make a thread for people who like it if you really want...

I prefer sticking to the safe stuff, so I use IE, and will make a virus to destroy your comp if you use anything else, just to prove how safe IE is.
