I am personally not a fan of symantec either. I have had much better luck using McAfee.

Now that we've solved the problems of the world by redirecting the corporate strategies of MS and Symantec, do I get my chocolate-chip cookie, or not???

Where are you going to get one of those? If you find some, pass em around.

hehe. Although I use a symantec product, I'm not really a fan of them. As for the poll, it was more or less a joke.

I've been recommending Norton's since before Symantec acquired it. It got so fat and sloppy I switched to Trend Micro several months ago.

I prefer Firefox.
However, certain sites work only for IE.
EG. Ebay, selling, only HTML option is there.its annoying when i want to release a quick item.
But the main reasom i use FF is because Its extra functions ACTUALLY WORK. if you use IE and FF and compare, you will see what i mean.

Uhuh what extra functions are those? Do you mean plugins? I don't like Firefox THAT much. I'd use Opera if it would render the major sites correctly (which I hope will be done in version 9). The reason I don't like firefox that much is that it crashes fairly often; the tabs don't seem multithreaded, if a page has a long loading time, I can't even press 'back' to cancel.

I don't recall having had any recurring problem with IE (neither with crashing nor security, or anything else). Works like a charm as far as I can tell. My biggest problem is collecting too many bookmarks.

On the other hand, Firefox hangs sometimes. But I still use it because of that cool extension for Utopia.

Firefox has never crashed on me or never hangs neither. I think it's the best browser on my computer and I have over 10 browsers. Firefox kicks the hell outta IE's ass!

Firefox crashes quite a bit. I would say (matter of opinion of course) that the problems with IE are security vulnerabilities and lack of compliance with recommended practice. Your average surfer could care less until their browser gets hijacked and they have more popups than liver pills. I don't know why anyone would want 10 browsers, but on the other hand I know a guy with 17 Corvettes, too.
