HI EVERYONE brand new to these forums. just did a google search for programming forums. So before i ask my first ever question (more of a favor) of you guys let me tell you a BREIF bit about myself that will last a few sentences. so here. I'm 17 live in Wisconsin, and currently in the Marine Corps DEP i ship off to bootcamp June 14, 2005. I'm going to be doing Data Systems. I know C++, and currently my intrest is with MFC.

NOW for my question! i'm bored, and out of ideas. I have programmed everything i'm capable of that i can think of that i want. Does anyone out there have an idea of a program they would like or need help with something? I'm free and bored.

well could you tell us some of the programs you have already written, so that we dont start giving you ideas for programs that you have already done

A MUD is always fun. Try writting your own, or download a base and fix it.

Well I don't want to say i'm a beginner but i'm not really advanced yet

so i guess i'm intermediate. Here is the only program i've really maintained http://www.planetbattlefield.com/bfarmory other programs i've worked on is a digital girlfriend (yes I truely am a nerd

) you basically talk to her and and she replies nothing to advanced but it was fun. She learned and i even had her attitude change depending on what you asked her then she starts to B**** at you, and soon leaves you for another digital man lol. Other projects i've made for myself are little utilites for my teachers and myself such as a program where you can make custom quizes, then record every students grade in a secure file. But i failed myself miserably on that one. The program worked great, but i later realized i could have implemented features on that to make the test easier for me... but i didn't stupid me eh (a glimpse into my moral standards there)? So yeah thats basically the stuff i've worked on.

do you still have this digital girlfriend thing i would like to see it

anyway back to the question. have you ever thought about creating a simple mp3 player. i will try to come up withsome more things to do but that is all i have right now

the mud idea is a pretty good one too

What is MUD? From the breif things i've read on the internet it looks intresting, but i'd like to read more information about it.

About my cyber girl friend i'll try to find the CD i stored it on. Its kinda at the point where shes annoying so i've put it away.

I have some things that need to be done

, but thats on linux, socket conections and multithreading ...

You can always go to sourceforge.org and join some open source project.
