3D studios max 8

I recently got 3D studios max 8 and i'm wondering if any of you know of a good place to learn 3ds max 8. I'm a complete beginner and need to start from the very basics. I searched google and most of the sites require some previous experience with the program.

Your best bet is to google "3D studio max tutorials" you probably don't need to specify the version because most of them are pretty much the same unless your using version 2 or something.

I know Maya comes with built in tutorials in the program, also you can download tutorials off of Maya's website so you might try the same thing with 3D studio. For the tutorials are probably in the help sub-menu.

If you got a legal version, then it should have comed boxed with the manual like most proprietory languages.

I want to learn everything from the basics to scripting and the manual doesn't cover all of it.

I use 3DS Max 8 myself, or at least I used to. The best tutorial you'll find is under the help sub-menu as Nebula mentioned. I've used it myself; it's all you need as far as tutorials in my opinion. The rest comes with practice.

Since Auttodesk changed the name from 3d Studio Max to 3ds Max at version 5, you would have better luck searching for 3ds Max 8 Tutorials.

Damn, it's loaded with tutorials and the reference is comprehensive, including for MAXScript. Have you tried clicking on 'Help'?
