I really enjoyed Michael Moore's books, but it turns out Americans hate him and say all his stuff is bull so I'm sorry for liking them

Drifter, you are the dude. SoT is excellent.

Oh, and kudos to you Josh for reading RJ. They get a bit slow after book 6, though. And yes, that's an understatement.

I'm also a huge fan of Adams. Oh, and George R. R. Martin is the best fantasy writer ever. Go read A Song of Ice and Fire now. The first book's called Game of Thrones.

Oh yeah, and Robin Hobb's also brilliant.

Currently I'm reading
Softwar: A Portrait of Larry Ellison & Oracle along with several issues of The Economist that I'm catching up with. Softwar is pretty interesting.

My previous favorites include

Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown
Angels & Demons by Dan Brown
Infinite Loop: How Apple, the World's Most Insanely Great Computer Company Went Insane
Gates: How Microsoft's Mogul Reinvented the Industry and Made Himself the Richest Man in America
The Difference Between God and Larry Ellison
Books 1-5 of the Wheel of Time series, and A New Spring

There are probably quite a few more that I can't remember.

You've just diminished yourself in my eyes... arse

Seriously, I love SoT - I've read the first 6 books over 20 times each - but I still say Martin's a better writer. He's a goddamn genius.

I've found that pretty much anything by chuck pahliniuk(spelling?) is usually worth reading...the guy who wrote "fight club".
