This is going to sound stupid and i know im going to regret saying it, but "Sams teach yourself visual C++ .net in 24 hours" looks at the IDE alot, Overall i found it to be an aweful book and it was picked up by mistake because i asked someone to pick me up a c++ book. But it did cover project types, compiling/debugging and other stuff to do with the IDE.
