CSS: Gaps between DIVs...?
I am redesigning my personal website, in which I am using CSS for the layout. I am relatively new to CSS and I have came across a problem that I can not wrap my mind around, yet...
Anyone know what causes gaps between DIVs? For an example: http://www.jasonpowers.net/_new/ The gap is below the right side menu... (rside-bar) and above the footer on the right of the screen near the bottom. I need to get rid of the gap or at the very least fill it in with the same background color as the menus. The CSS file can be viewed here: http://jasonpowers.net/_new/main.css Also, take a look at my old site, link in my sig, and the new site... let me know which one you think looks better... the links aren't operational, and I haven't ran it through the W3C validator... but I will work it out after I get the layout down right. Thanks for any input.

And as an aside, validate your HTML. You've been a good boy IR - it's just the <br> tags (close them, damnit!), and you typed "</a>" instead of "</p>" once, but that's it.

Thats better (closed <br>'s) Just one thing, personally I don't like having a link to the home page (or any other page) on the home page (or that same other page).
Have the word home by all means but just don't make it a link if you are already on that page, if the user wants to refresh they will hit F5 or the refresh/reload button or something. Would also be good if you had some way of letting the user know which page they were on but say highlighting or changing the colour of the word home. Looks good otherwise. See here http://www.manisheriar.com/holygrail/index.htm for three column layour with a footer as well as a header. Might point you in the right direction to fix the gap. |

The layout is complete after a few modifications. The site isn't operational yet (most links are broken), but I plan to fix that by tomorrow. However, I went ahead and validated the site through the HTML and CSS validators at W3C.
Thanks for your input everyone...

Wow that's a very nice site. Wish I had a site like that.
You took the hotmail colors too. I have a site laying around that uses about the same colors.

Thanks man! Hotmail colors? Hah, that's interesting because I used random colors that I saw in a list that I thought looked good together. lol.
