a guy i know who works at intel gave me this vb.net 2003 std box. it cool and all but i have no idea what to use it for. so what can i do with vb.net? i dont have any experiance with networks or massive web design.

VB .NET isn't for webdesign, it is for application programming. A quick google should give you this answer as well:

Vb.Net is using the .Net base class library hence it is object-oriented. You can create your own classes and objects easily, cleanly and reuse the code elsewhere...

Learning Vb.Net could also help in learning other .Net languages such as C#.Net more easily... :banana:

Actually, VB.NET is good for rapid application development, or RAD. It's also good for prototyping, so you can get (or give the client) an idea of what the end product will be, and make adjustments as needed. For many apps, where most of the execution time is spent waiting for user input, VB.NET is just fine. For high-performance code, such as games or device drivers, they are often written in a more efficient language for the final version.
