Talking Best Linux or Unix Desktop?

Hi all.

Looking at different Linux Distros, I have decided if I download a distro, it has to be in the Gnome desktop. Everything else looks clunky to me. I was talking to Nebula last night and he said he likes KDE better than Gnome. KDE looks horrible to me, IMHO. FluxBox gets on my nerves too, but I like it better than KDE.

As some of you are Linux and Unix guru's, I have to pose the question:

What do you think is the best desktop for Linux or Unix and why? (I didn't put a poll up because I don't know all of the different desktops for Linux and Unix)

Thanks.

Here are just a few of them...Open Box, Saw Fish, FluxBox, KDE, GNOME, CDE, FXCE. Google images and you can find screenshots for any of them.

Fluxbox is my favourite. It is small, lightweight, fast, and I feel very comfortable using it.

I love KDE because of KWin, its window manager, is so amazingly flexible. Look what I can turn my desktop into with it!

I also like the Keramik style

I prefer KDE with the Plastik theme myself. Looks very nice and polished.
