You're programming abilities wil be severely limited if you do not learn the math behind it, of course you can go the route of network/it technician where the math may not be so important.

the math reqs for my school are cal I, calc II, discrete math, prob and stats, and linear algebra.
it pretty much exposes you to a variety of math even though you may never need it. as for college level, i consider "college algebra" and anything less to be remedial. it helps you develop the types of thinking skills needed.
