You might want to try a win32 console application, make it an empty project.
Add a code file (.cpp) to your project and write. Then compile and run.

It's a pity the help came after the insults. ("are you a blonde?")

Everyone has to start somewhere, and pointing her towards a good tutorial explaining compilers, the compilation process, and so on would have taken about the same amount of time as insulting her did.

And reading the documentation and a "Hello, World" tutorial would have been much more effective. That's the point. It's a matter of the most effective approach. There's more to learn than syntax and semantics, as you see quite clearly.

I was married to a blonde for 22 years. In the few years she worked, she averaged about 50K per. My brunette wife never came close. I still tell blonde jokes, though.

i dunno... this is my procedue:
File -> New project ...
File -> New File (.cpp)
type code ..
run ... bam!
no idea what the problem is ... tried it multiple times ... any clue?
