Anyone want to learn how to program?

I'd be willing to teach beginners how to program over msn. There wouldn't be any group lessons or anything--just a one on one thing.

Before I go any further, let me say that I'm not going to charge anything--the reason I'm offering is because I plan to start teaching for money, and I need to see if I can do it well enough. Plus, I probably need practice.

I know Python, PHP (and MySQL), and Java, and I reccomend Python for your first pick.

I can start as basic as you want, because if you're reading this, that means that you are proficient enough with a computer to handle the internet and understand forums. That's pretty much enough for me.

Once again, I won't charge anything at all--I just like teaching, and I need to make sure I'm good at it.

i'd recommend making a site with different tutorials for the languages you know. That way it is going to force you to think it out writing it down and your students will have a place to go if they need help and you can't be online. And on the site ask for feedback on the way your teaching to see if it is helping people. And when you do start charging you can use it as part of an ad campaign and advertise your services on there.

I'm no longer interested really, mainly due to this is geared more towards learning how to program in general, although using python. Not teaching the concepts that are new in Python or anything advanced... etc. If I'm wrong, let me know. But if I am right, I will sit this one out.

I would suggest that the two threads be combined or one of them pruned, as cross-posting is discouraged, but the topic is fine.

Well, one can see the pruners, unlike a dangerous piece of software that's only 50% "good."
