Displaying user information on all posts
Because questions are always asked about which OS, or platform a person is running on, or questions about expertise, why don't we display this information for each person on every post they make?
something like this: Quote:

Nice idea, Jesse. It would probably require a hack to the forum software to get it into a user's profile. In the meantime, new posters should be aware that they need to provide ALL applicable information when they ask a question. If the OS is germane (or you don't know whether or not it is), give it. The language is often implicit in the forum; if not, give it. Information is the key to both debugging and receiving viable help.

Yeah awesome idea! I'm for it.
Only one problem. When people like DaWei or IR post, their lists will bog down those dial-up connections. ![]() |

Thanks.
![]() Just so I'm not taking all the credit, I have seen this on other computer forums. It wasn't a new idea.

Ah, I see you found out how! Good going Big_k!
I've added my list. For those who don't see where, you go UserCP > Edit Profile. It's at the bottom. You're almost finished, just got to get those labels. |

Ah! You even made it not show for those who haven't put anything there! That's what I was going to suggest next. Excellent!
That was done very quickly. Did you have to hack it like DaWei had suggested? |

Nah, Just had to do alittle modification to the template and then add the profile fields which is an option in the adming cp. and then I created new phrases. If you know how the software works you would know what the phrases are for, I could have just typed OS and Languages but I thought I might as well do it like they do it everywhere else in throughout the software.
