Most professional games these days like Halo, warcraft, and such are probably coded mostly in C or C++, usually both. I prefer Python and thats a geart language for games and what not. Its also a good language for anyhting. I use it for most of my applications and what not. Java is not the bets language to learn but it might be good to learn it after you have a fair knowledge of C/C++. But, I would have to recommend Python as a second language after C/C++. Good luck!

Well, if your just starting out in Python then i would very highly recommend this tutorial as it is very good. I learned a greet deal from this one. Python Tutorial It dosn't cover the entire language but it does go over most of the important stuff. If you want a real hardcore tutorial then go with the one from www.Python.orgThe only book i've read on Python wasn't that good so i couldn't recommend any books. Good luck!
