No it's not just "once", but you certainly cannot expect continuous gains.
Take a look at Google (GOOG). For about a year it's been virtually "no risk", a sure bet. Recently it took a huge dip, proving nothing is certain.

Must have heard that in college eh? I did also. When I started working for the DoD, I was shocked that no-one at my particular facility coded in ADA. C/C++ is used for the most part.

Yea I dont think we have any ADA people around here, but we may have some at another office. Not many programmers are in my office. I think I did hear that in college though too!

I agree Para. Trust me...I dont think this will continue forever. I know the laws of physics, what goes up must come down! haha

Here is the question though. Let's say you have 2 friends (hopefully you have more than this), say F1 and F2. F1 puts $500 in a stock, and at the end of the month he now has $1000. F2 sees this and puts in $500. So at the end of the 2nd month, F1 has $2000 and F2 has $1000. Both doubled their money each month, and there is no indication of it stopping anytime soon...but you know it will eventually crash. When they told you about it, would you take it?

Yea, it IS a risk. There is a chance you could lose your $500, but what if you get back $1000 in a month? Is that worth the risk? Everyone will have their opinions there.

So yea, I know this thing will crash. If it happens today then I'll lose some. If it happens in a week or two, then I'll make some. If it happens in 6 months, then at least I'll be rolling around in a new car for free! haha

I would consider the move to be over and wouldn't bother trading it. What stock is it?
btw $500 is nothing -- I wouldn't object to taking a risk with just that. If you wanted to sink 5 grand into it that would be different (at least for me it would).

This statement is so wrong. Most people don't have that kind of money, if you do then that's ok.. but don't generalize.

That's true, I was assuming (since he said he could lose it and not worry) that it is a relatively small amount of money to him (for this type of investment). True $500 is a lot (to me anyhow), but it seemed to me from his previous post that it's not going to break him if he loses. Sorry for that.

btw, JDStud6, I'm still interested in the ticker symbol.

not really a big deal, i got the child taxes cheque today so it doesn't bother me because i actually get to eat some good food for a few more days until thursday. If i was on one of my "broke spree's" i would probably be a little bit :mad:
