Visual Basic usage
Can you jsut write VB code into a compiler or something and their are curtain functions that make things graphical and such. Or do you ahve to use Visual Studios and amke the object or graphical piece and use the code to make it move, or w/e! As you can see i know nothing about VB, can someone tell me (in short) how you use VB and what its used for.

Don't use VB, its old, teaches you bad coding habits, evil, microsoft and it sucks.
Basically you open a program called "Visual Basic 6" and you can drag and drop buttons and stuff onto a window, then you can double click an object and put some code on it. But seriously it sucks cock.

Many beginners like it because it is very easy and does almost everything for you.

Go with Python if you want a easy OOP language! I'm right now trying to learn Java and it's made long but very easy to relate to. VB, to me, isn't stupid but it does throw you off when you want to learn some other programming language after you just started with VB. I wish I would have learned Python earlier. Plus I heard VB 6 is very expensive. I have Visual Studio 2003 .NET, but haven't really used it. Java is my goal now and then C++.

As far as VB6 being expensive... Look into VB.Net via SharpDevelop... its free.
In regards to the drag and drop of windows components to a central form... this isn't stupid, its beneficial. This doesn't make it a "newbie language"... C# does the same thing. VB, basic in general, teaches bad habits... mostly due to syntax and that's it. VB has its place and is very useful in some instances... People who don't understand the potential of a particular language tend to bash it... To answer the OP's question, I use VB in SharpDevelop and Visual Studio .NET. The applications that I created with VB range from basic games to enterprise level system administration and business applications.
