Even if you don't know anything about computers you can just follow the manuals and easily build your own... It isn't so difficult

Every answer you get, you have an objection to. Furthermore, when you didn't get an answer within 14 minutes (FOURTEEN MINUTES!!), you bumped the thread. Why would anyone bother? I, for one, don't have a contract to sit around waiting for you to post a question you won't like the answer to. Perhaps you should just ask yo mama.

You'd be surprised how many programmers can barely use Windows.

This is not true at all. I have no desire to learn hardware. I don't know, it just doesn't interest me. I know that if I wanted to go in a proffesional field, it would be required, but like I said, I have no interest now.

Therefore, I would say that this (novice) programmer does not know how to build a simple computer.

Well for a start, i aint a programmer yet! and secondly i still need a credit card to order part ect from the net, i aint paying full price for a graphics card from a shop that i can get 20% of from the internet.

And the reason i bumped the thread is because im down the fucking cyber cafe with a shit connection and only 20 mins till my times up, life sucks without a computer.

Build your on. Its easy. Just get a cheap Pentium 3 processor off Ebay and buy a crap graphics card as well. I baught my graphics card of Ebay for 8 bucks! And it works better than any i've ever used. If you dont have a credit card then get one. Get a job. Get a 50 gig harddrive 512 memory. And a box.

Problems are meant to be solved, Google "how to build your own computer" Building your own computer is a great skill to have because if soemthing goes wrong with it, then you can work on it yourself. If you dont know how to do something, thats more the reason to learn it.

bump that up to bout 400 and you can get a pentium 4 1.5 GHz which is really nice. If your just going to be surfing the net, then i strongly recommend a Pentium 3. Their cheap, quite fast, and the only disadvantage is you cant play huge games with them. but with $350 you can buy a P3 processor, a decent graphics card (if your not going to be playing game then graphics wont matter) 512 RAM (which is what i have and it works fine) a 50 or 60 gig harddrive and a box. As far as motherboards go, i'm not really familiar with what is good and bad.

I know exactly how you feel about getting a good computer, i felt the same way. But trust me, you dont need a really good computer to do what you need to do. A P3 would do fine if your to be useing anything except for huge games and graphics work. Then i would recommend a Mac. But yes, you can buy a decent computer with $350

*Cheers*, Good choice. The P4 will let you play huge games and work with huge programs like Morpheus but if your just going to be surfing the web or working with MS Word and such then the P3 will do just fine.

Speaking of which, my cousin just gave me a P3 computer last night! I got it this morning, i'm playing with it right now! Pretty fast, only 533 MHz. With Win.98
