The game library does not directly support graphics. You must implement the drivers to use it. It some ways you can think of it as being fully platform independent!

That made me think graphics. I know there are a ton of other things games librarires can handle, but I'm not sure how much you can abstract animation and collision detection without actually creating more work then the graphics libraries can do.

Most graphics libraries don't even handle animation. What you are talking about is a game engine. My game library is probably more of a game engine than anything else. There are graphics drivers but you have to implement them.
