Fluxbox is good, but KDE has more eye candy features if you like that sorta thing. Quite a few people like fvwm aswell. :-D

You can't see your harddisk from cfdisk. That doesn't make a lot of sense.

Run this, and show us the output:
 fdisk -l
It lists the harddrives.

Disk /Dev/hde 13.5 GB, 255 heads, 63 sectors, 1650 units = cylinders of 16065 X 512=8225280
/dev/hde1 * 1 1650 1325359+ c w95 Fat32 (LBA)
Funny fdisk finds it.

Cfdisk grabs everything from UDev, and the only possible explanation for a drive not enumerating unless you've made a config mistake, or there's something wrong with the drive itself, is you're running a kernel that doesn't have the modules/compiled-in support for your hard disk controller. Gentoo for example didn't support my SATA RAID with the kernel running on the livecd so I had to manually modprobe nvraid. Did you build your own kernel or do you have an obscure disk controller?

Everything is installed and running. I feel proud. My problem was solved when I managed to delete my partition in fdisk making the free space appear. I also discovered after cfdisk you have to type your hard drive name. Maybe this was agiven however I am a Linux NOOB. P.S. I installed NASM with the packages how do I find it? Thanks for the tutorial.

To use nasm, open up a console window, and type "nasm" and press enter. You'll probably need to use "nasm -h" or "man nasm" for a bit of help on using it ;-)
