I got the progress bar to work properly, Is there anyway to display text on each step as well in the main window? I would like to include text that says whether each file was deleted or not just after the command to delete it was run. Also, I would like to "pause" the program after each delete command so that the progress bar does not just fly to the end and not see any of the step segments.

Yeah you can make it do that, just let your program sleep, or make a function in which you do the real work quickly but just let it show slowly. Seems simple enough.

The GNU documentation says that this bit is set when the stream is "unusable". Presumably the intent is that once this bit becomes set, all bets are off on that stream forever.
