I want to learn c++ and I need a compiler, does anyone know where i can get a free c++ compiler?

I would have to agree with Mjordan2nd that dev-c++ is the best editor/compiler for windows out there. bloodshed made an awsome program. good luck with learning C++

I think Visual Studio is an IDE based compiler, so I think its better. But did you have to pay for it?

I believe dev-c++ is the best "free compiler".

yeah i should have stated it is the best compiler/editor if you dont like ide/rad's and its free so that makes it great aswell
as for buy visual studios if you where looking to fork out around $600-$900 then its cool it makes creating gui applications easy so im not saying its bad as i am a visual basic programmer im just saying for free dev-C++ is the bomb
