what's your point G.I.?
I don't realy see how my statement was abstract enough to need explanation. If intentionally acting dipsy (by saying things like guyzzzz, gurl, and hehehehehehe!) makes it difficult to be tooken seriously, then why do ya do it? Nothing wrong with being silly mind you, but come on now. Eh, maybe I'm being a bit uptight. Afterall, I'm the guy who started the shatner thread.

I think that I get what G.I. is saying. I tend to agree. I'm tickled pink to see females interested in programming and actively posting on a programming forum, but I don't really see the need to give special treatment to them. I see the Internet as a place where we exist without sex, race, or other prejudice (paraphrased from Mentor's Last Words).

If you are serious about programming, then it's great to have you aboard, but I will always see everyone as a screen name in front of an intellectual being that I converse with. If I get to know you more personally on something like IRC (as I have done with many from LFO), then there will be no difference.

I don't mean to come across as an ass, but those are my views on the subject.

Back on topic, Welcome to the forums! B)

i am with saurmont, anyone could be anybody on teh internet so its better to take them as is., not as they could be or soemthing like that i dunno, just lots of people tend to be fake on the internet, just act like they are an entity like everyone elsde and they can prove there worth, which is a better way then going "ooooo girlies lets hit on them"
