I discovered XML and understood its value

No jokes..I did it today in my college Library!

I was just browsing through the book for the "&trade" as for TradeMark Symbol in HTML.

I just started seeing the code for representing data from XML to HTML
and I discovered the importance of XML with the use of databases and representation of them in TABLES in HTML...Puh! what a idea...

however, there's some overhead though..but...no IIS server required (had it been processed using ASP/VBScript)...

XML..good!....I'll learn much later after my semester Exams!

Is there a question in there somewhere? Or a purpose? I think I'm overlooking it....

lol, I might as well use this post to say that I just started opengl and I like it just as much as the original poster likes xml. Opengl is a hell of alot easier than directx.

Yes, take a look at what an XSLT stylesheet can do. You can make a stylesheet to translate an RSS feed into a nicely formated HTML page. You can write a short serverside script to return database results in XML and display them accordingly. It seperates the data and presentation (Or Model and View, in the MVC concept), which often times is done with some sort of clunky template system or having the script directly return html.

XML's fantastic. There's one problem with it though: it's over-used. It would be nice if people used it when it was the logical choice, and not just whenever they felt like it.

Yeah, some people get the idea that XML is some magical buzzword that makes an app up to date and sophisticated.
