Best of luck in your endeavor to create a MMORPG. Its great to see it when people have enthusiasm to undertake such a large project as this one.

You have created a little skepticism among members here. The project did come across to me as sounding more like “This would be cool” rather than a professional proposal. I would just like you to hear my thoughts.

Because you do not have a budget to offer salaries, you need programmers more than they need you. Because of this, you’re going to need, in the most extreme way, professionalism, organization, planning and, if possible, examples of past successes in anything related. And you’re going to need a very well organized presentation of a project strategy in order to accomplish these goals. Being able to present yourself, and ideas well is even more important than your experience in the field. Even if you are still at the planning stage, if you sound professional, you can throw out the idea simply to attract contacts which you can later use when you present your strategy. Excitement is no substitute for thinking things out.

Too often, projects that have been offered up in forums, by amateurs, have exaggerated their project completeness, goals, number of serious contributors, and the experience of those contributors. Don't do this. If this exaggeration doesn't come across in the presentation, and it usually does, it will only cause frustrations and hatred later. Enthusiasm but honesty is the best approach.

I don't mean at all to sound condescending or very knowledgeable in these matters, as I am a programmer at the beginning of his career, but I’ve been asked numerous times to be part of projects that barely lived past a the excitement and brainstorming stage. Again, I state my thoughts in constructive criticism.

You should read the posts, Plate. It's been mentioned several times that the OP posted this back in September of last year.
