Oh hahaha. That reminds me of in math class, I kept using '/' instead of the divide sign. I got so many deducted communication marks from that.
But I'm still convinced that I'm way more capable of absorbing information now... so weird. |

I never tried to confuse teacher with these things...
I must try something like this : ... Pythagora *idiot = new Pythagora (IQ = 3.14); idiot->calculate_your_freaky_theorem (); ...

I think you will think more structured, and your brain will be trained at solving problems. You will also think more logical. This makes you appear smarter, but in reality doesn't - you will stay as smart as you are, since you get your iq when you are born

Programming always distracts me from doing my homework so who knows, does it really make me smarter? That's a matter of definitions
![]() One thing is for sure: it lets loose my creativity, I feel right at home when programming.One thing you can say about education in my country, the higher level of school you go to, the less focus there is on the creativity provoking aspect of education. You have to take either Music or Arts classes if you want to do creative stuff at my age, it's simply not explored in Danish, English, French, History, Mathematics.

There's really no such thing as an IQ, just the developmental years that set your standard. Theoretically, almost everyone has the same potential as anyone else.

yeah, the intelligence quotient is your "mental age" divided by your physical age, quantity multiplied by 100. so 100 is average or "normal". most IQ tests are designed to cap out at about 160, so as you approach that limit, the results may become skewed (i studied an iq assesment in college where the only way to get over 120 was to be 65 years old...good for measuring the intelligence of inanimate objects i suppose). ideally an IQ test must consist of questions that require no foreknowledge (e.g. vocab questions are stupid, i can teach a retard what obfuscated means). this sets some unrealistic limitations on the assesment tool. for example you probably have to understand the language the test is given in...etc. anyway, i think the "genius"(yes, it's a discretely quantifiable term, just as "idiot" and "moron" used to be for the lower end of the spectrum before they acquired a fairly pejorative connotation, and were dropped in favor of terms like "moderately/severely retarded, etc.")cuttoff is either 140 or 145. then you're operating at the 95.5th percentile. any random population of 200 people, and you're the smartest one. hella cool.
