Your Opinion v2
Hey if you're bored with nothing better to do, read on. Otherwise I'm just being a bother.
![]() For my upcoming RPG, Soulodine, which do you think is better battle/boss music? And feel free to comment/critisize the quality of the pieces (keeping in mind they were created via midi). http://1v7.com/drsane/boss_from_soulodine.mp3 http://1v7.com/drsane/battle_from_soulodine.mp3 If you get a 404, that means I'm still uploading it. So hold on. And by the way, the boss has about a minute long intro, so don't think that the whole thing will be slow and boring. ![]() All enclosed music, and the music of Soulodine, is property of its author(s), and can not be redistributed or applied in any way without the original author's permission. mp3.
The MIDI tracks aren't common among all MIDI interfaces, which will sometimes mess the sound up. So using the intended interface, I recorded the MIDI through stereo and compiled as mp3 (which is why some parts are uneven, I was doing too much while it was recording). Mp3 also allowed me to pump up the bass and volume, and add mp3 tags. Plus you can't steal or modify my score directly. :p |

Got them. I liked http://1v7.com/drsane/battle_from_soulodine.mp3 the most.

You have to tell us what you're using them for. The first one "boss" is good for a bedtime story
, the second one "battle" is good for an action game. |

I don't know what I'm using them for ... that's the thing.
All I know is that they'll be part of my RPG, and most likely for a "boss" or a "battle". And did you listen to all of boss? Because after about 90 seconds it's definitely not a lullaby... |

The boss would be really good for a reveal. I kept seeing Final Fantasy scenes in my head when listening to it. Something like introduction to a new area or something like that (very good song imho) It does pick up the pace but it is not what you would expect for a battle (unless maybe their is a long cut scene before you start fighting)
But if you are trying to raise my anxiety and the boss i have to fight is moving about and actually fighting back...then the battle music better for that. I kept seeing an End Of Level monster from Sonic (or another side-scrolling arcade game). I liked the Boss song the best (as far as enjoyable music) but I have to agree with OpenLoop, the Boss song would not put a sense of urgency into the player when dealing with the a battle. Chi PS. do you have any screen shots of the alpha yet? |

boss takes too long to pick up the pace. It might serve as an introduction though.

That's exactly why I said there was a 1 minute intro at the beginning. lol
