Learning to program is not a simple task. If you think you can click afew buttons and enter afew comands and have a gui you are wrong. To me it sounds that you are really not cut out for programing but if you really want to learn first you have to master the strings and math. If you dont master the bare basics first, you will never grasp the advanced topics. Programing is much more complex than you think it is.

You have to learn to crawl before you can walk, and you must learn to walk before you can run grasshoper.

edit: my advice is to read your book cover to cover and practice what you learn then come back and we'll be glad to guide you from there.

Or in my case, "learn to fold one leg upwards while dragging your limp flat body along the ground before walking".

In my defense though, one leg is longer then the other.
