Question Code Request - Onboard Audio

Hello,

I have absoloutely no idea if this is the right area to post this request in but I was wondering if anyone could help me out with a bit of programming.

I want to be able to play a audio file through on board speaker (motherboard) like the sounds that play when sticky keys are pressed etc. So I am thinking the audio file will have to be hardcoded into the audio file or something to make it play through that speaker channel instead of the normal audio channel. I then want to use the audio file to play on log in to windows.

I don't know if this is even possible. =S
I would be really greatful if someone would be kind enough to help me out though.

Thanks a heap.

I'm not to sure how you would do it, but it is possible.

I wrote a program in Python one time that played a little tune through the on board speaker =)

You lost me right there. I never tried playing sound through the mobo speaker, but I will look into it more later.

You can generate sounds using C/C++. Its been a long time for me, but I remember there was a specific library that contains that stuff...mmsystem.h? maybe. I will look into some of my old code.

One possibility.
