linking devc++ to allegro

I installed the allegro package to use in dev c++ and I whent to
project options>parameters> and then under linker I clicked add library or object and I added liballeg.a. But when I tried to compile and run I got this error: "alleg40.dll was not found". Alltho I followed my tutorial closely it may be out dated. I also whent to tools>package manager> then selected allegro and then clicked verify, and it said no errors detected. Can some one help me get allegro up and running? thx.

The "alleg40.dll" file should be in the same folder as your .exe file. If you don't have the dll file, it would be generated when compiling the allegro library, I guess.
