microsoft creates only software for the regular user.. quite stupid, IMO, since adobe probably makes lots of money on photoshop, after effects and acrobat.

Did you all know Linux was created due to a spinoff of Linus trying to write a terminal emulator?

IMHO Abodbe Photoshop/Imageready is the best graphics editor. I haven't seen a program to match it. The GIMP is good aswell but i just don't think it is as good as PhotoShop.
I dunno... how do you find it better? Feature-wise? User-friendliness? I find Photoshop to be more user-friendly and with a less annoying interface (I despise multiple windows), but feature-wise I can find almost everything from Photoshop in the GIMP, and I can find more. Plus it's easily extensible so there are cool script-fu (and recently Python-fu! Woo!) plugins - my current favourite being one to make a lightsaber blade, heh. I think it's worth getting better at the one that is available on the most platforms personally.

I hate the multiple windows, and when you right click it shows you the whoel menu which i don't like, i like it to show the tools options and i don't like soem other small parts.

One thing I don't like about Gimp2 (other than the multiple windows thing) is that it doesn't have a print preview function(or at least i can't find it) which is crutial if you like to print your images the right way.
