yeah, a microsoft IDE would probably ask you if you wanted to put nipples on your program or some other crap like that. it's like cable tv---700 channels that you don't want to watch...microsoft IDE is 700 tabs that you don't want to click.

fuck guys!?! save, compile, run... what the fucking shit-else is there? let me add some classes...thanks for putting a } in place, that would have taken forever if i didn't have your product. i'm being stupid again...forgive me...

it's like having a butler that will wipe your ass, but won't serve dinner...

about the c++ gui programming...

an excellent program is qt designer (www.trolltech.com)

works on win, x11 and osx. i don't think you even need to change any code to port it

thats a trial version on their site i belive but there are free ones out there (ie comes with many linux distros)

Blood Ninja, I agree with you. But it's gotten to the point where it's not about 'how cool you are with what compiler you use', but what suits you best, and what you feel comfortable with. Like I said, I myself use Borland FCLT 5.5, but Visual Studio is really helpful in some stuff, and that I can't deny.

I find the IntelliSense (what a stupid name) in VS .NET rather helpful.

Yep, and it's not like blood ninja said 'adds a brace for me wow!', you have to try it out to see for yourself ninja. Yeah, haha, that name is stupid, it interferes with intellimouse which has something called intellisense too.

i just found a link on microsoft's page to get them to send you a free ($5 shipping) of the 2005 beta for vs. yeah, it's frustrating sometimes, but i'm looking forward to working more with it in the future. i just wish i had $2500 lying around to spend on the full version.

lol yeah I know how it feels, hey, if you dont like 2005 dont take it personally, it's beta, and personally I like .Net more, I just restarted from uninstalling 2005, lol. It's still cool though, and better, it's just that I rather not get used to it just yet. But yeah it's a really cool compiler, IDE I mean, my favorite compiler is borland. So now I'm using Code::Blocks ( www.codeblocks.org ) with the borland compiler, it's a nice pairing I guess. But yeah VS is really nice.

It adds braces for you? I must've turned that off - I hate that. What I do like is the IntelliSense "fill-in-the-rest-of-the-word" thing, because I can never remember stuff, and the thing that sorts out your tabbing when you close braces, etc.

Yeah that! But I'm gonna use borland and EmEditor or CodeBlocks from now on. CodeBlocks seems to be like visual studio, try it out! and its free too! www.codeblocks.org
