HTML editors

Hi,

I'm new here and had a couple questions. What is a good HTML editor software that I could use and are there any good websites (or books) for learning? (I've try searching but to no luck yet). Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Linux - Nvu (free and very good)
Windows - Dreamweaver (Really good but you have to pay for it)

CoffeeCup is pretty good for Windows. I do most of my editing in VI on the *nix side.

I recommend Kate, gedit or vim in Linux, and Notepad2 in Windows.

If you are just starting out, I would say a plain text editor.
One that is free and has syntax highlighting.

Windows: Dreamweaver. Don't let it write your code.
