Well, how could it? What if someone wrote their own low-level function to do the same thing? How would you stop them?

Well its hard to say, about a year i suppose. I started with HTML, then i moved on to C++, then to Python, i can also do a bit of JavaScript and PHP.
I found that Python is my favourite and is worth learning.

Hurrah! Same for me, Python is my favourite.

Math definitely helps to a certain extent. But being very good at maths won't even really make a difference until you get in to the real complex stuff. You'll be fine learning and having fun without math before that, and will most likely move on to programming applications where there is little or no math involved.

why do americans call maths, math? :s

You need to be good at maths when it comes to graphical games and stuff, where you have forumlae to decide where lines are etc.

If you want to get technical, it is "Mathematics". Just for the record, are you British?

He's in the bathtub right now so I'll be answering for him. :p

Yeah, I'm pretty sure he's British.

He learned from buying a book online (don't know the name), and from studying this: http://docs.python.org/tut/
