Hi all!
I was wondering what the use of fifo files were. I understand that they are basicly a form of piping data to/from applications, but all I can find online is page after page after page of the man file. It would be great if somone out there could tell me how to actually use it. For instance, (relating to my other topic which seems to have come up dry) I want to write to a mplayer window telling to play a specific clip. How would I create a fifo to do that? Thanks! ![]() |

What OS are you using. It sounds like unix, but Windows also supports fifo objects.
