I have 2Mb line. I get an average download speed of 200kb/s when I am downloading from bit torrent.

Well if that's the case then this could explain the seemingly false advertisments.

4.0Mbps=4.0MegaBitsPerSecond
~450Kbps may be rated in bytes instead of bits.
4 MBitsPS = 4000 KBitsPS = 4000/8 KBytesPS = 500 KBytesPS
I guess you're right, but they're still the fastest arround here.

Also, eight bits doesn't always equal a byte if you're talking transmitted bits. In many situations the total number of transitions sent for a "data byte" depends upon other settings used to frame and define a "character" or "byte".

I have not paid attention recently to the terminology that tends to come into use or to change with time, but at one point the case of the "b" would have indicated whether one meant "bits" or "Bytes", kb/s and kB/s being distinctly different.

I've seen it download at a megabyte per second, but that only held for a few seconds. The fastest download speed overall for a file would have to be 500 or 600 KBPS I think.
