What a bummer that C++ doesn't have a built in GUI toolkit

That has always bothered me. I love the language and the syntax and how easy it is to send output to the screen. But I have discovered long ago that creating GUI programs in C++ is... well to me it looks extremely complicated and downright frightening.

I'd like to ask is the reason C++ doesn't have a built in GUI framework because the language actually came out, what was it in the early 80's?

And back then nobody had a personal computer because they didn't exist yet?

And there was no such thing as a graphical user interface?

Or are there other reasons why the creator of the language didn't include a GUI toolkit?

C++ is just a language. It does not have anything built into it. If you want tool kits you have to find the library extensions. If I am not wrong there are some C files that have some sort of GUI stuff in them, but they are fairly limited.

I know that. But my question was why? Just wanna know out of curiousity why one of the greatest languages does not have a built in GUI Framework.

It's a language they do not know what you want to do with it. They leave it up to you to decide.

When you consider how much software is let's face it...GUI. It seems to me they should build in a GUI toolkit.

Simple.

This is 2016. Not 1975.

I feel the same way about OpenGL, but if they let that one in they have to let them all in. If it takes an hour to download a compiler just imagine how long it would take to do so with all the extra baggage.

Because it's unnecessary to include one in the core language. Even Java doesn't really include GUI components as part of the core language.
