I came across this site many years ago... don't take it serious, just as a form of morbid entertainment.

That clock is stupid, how how can you base your date of death on smoking? My grandmother on my fathers side has been smoking all her life and still smokes about 5 a day...she's 84 years old.

The site is based loosely on actuarial tables. It is an actuarial fact that smokers tend to live fewer years than non-smokers. It is not a given. I smoke. I'll take whatever that produces for me. It's just a statistical table that has validity if you're going to make money insuring people's lives. They didn't make out with my dad -- he lived to be 91. They made out with my grandmother, who died at 52. Win some, lose some, don't take that site seriously, consider actuarial figures an average that makes insurance companies a fortune. Shoot, don't stress over it, get real.

"Synchronise your clock to your time of death!!!" - How morbid is that?
What if it's miss-timed and there are a few extra, really awkward minutes at your funeral when all the snacks and beverages have run out? It's like those little heart rate monitor watches joggers go around with. What's the point? How do you know when they flatline that it's you or the ni-cad that's dead? |
