Talking Offshore (of N.America) developers wntd for the Revolution (paid)

We are a group of developers, forming a co-operative, who wish to undermine the empire. We believe that only once the people can collectively organize themselves will we be free and violence cease. Our members have developed a plethora of projects and as a collective we have vast experience (with indymedia.org in Seattle being a particularly proud feather in at least my cap). We are looking to out-source a lot of our contracts for non-profits so as to be able to offer affordable prices to organizations working for altruistic aims. We’re mostly all programmers so who ever we bring on board will find understanding amongst colleagues without the pestering.

We are looking for self-disciplined people who can work from home, problem solve and be creative. We will soon have a collaboration site up and are looking into new solutions for live co-editing so that we can bridge our members and clients around the world seemlessly. We have some exciting contacts implementing some great ideas throughout North America so we really must stress the creative bit. Good communications skills are a must. It would be a plus if you’ve lived in one of the English colonial countries i.e. N.Z., Australia, Canada, Britain or the U.S. Even just having hung out with a bunch of expats in Pune, Goa, where have, you is a bonus.

If you can pull together a good creative team that works collectively without hierarchical bull-shit, has a social conscience and sees the strategic value of progressive media, open source, etc., than we will help you incorporate your own co-op in India. So if you’re in a good circle of cool, creative developers you should be responding to this.

We are looking to test this whole offshoring thing out, and if it works with who ever, than that person (those people) will see a lot of work for good money (in Indian terms), with us thinking we might institute some kind of profit sharing. We would like to bring on people who’re already activists in their communities. The business plan has us using some profits from outsourced labour production margins towards paying for cutting-edge projects that’ll help the masses organize themselves and progressive media gain more power. We’re in the belly of the beast and need your help. Want to help M.C. the revolution?

Please include 3 professional developer references with your CV. A reference that’ll vouch for your activism or political analysis would be good. We are looking for a plethora of skills and language familiarity, so spell it out for us and tell us something about your values and world view. Really, we’re interested in the colour of your conscience, the way that you process your diction, how you dream and what you dream. Tell us about your favourite open source values and where you’d like your career to go. Basically just blather on as much as I have here.<grin>

In Solidarity,
Greg Dean

P.S.
We have a couple projects that could use some one taking over on them right now. They’d be good simple tests and are mostly PHP/mysql stuff.

Is it a bidness or a commune of all-geeks-created-equal? Do you think descendentants of "colonials" would mainly go for that? What's wrong with "good money" in Canadian, NZ, AU, US, et.al. terms?
