Question x86 Assembly under Linux

Hello ! Basically I would like to learn x86 Assembly (because that's the architecture I have available ) . My single Operating System is a Linux box so all my assembling will be done under it (at least for now) . I'm having difficulties finding the right book to get me started .. I'm not affraid of technical approaches .. HLA doesn't satisfy me .. it resembles ASM but it is not ASM .. Assembly Language Step By Step by Jeff Duntermann .. I managed to get my heands on this book .. but it seems it focuses sloely on DOS/DEBUG etc. and not Linux

I.e:

Chapter 3 The right to assemble
3.1 ..
3.2 DOS and DOS Files
3.3 ..
3.4 ..
3.5 DEBUG and How to Use It

....

6.1 Assembling and Executing Machine Instructions with DEBUG

But nothing about Linux .. and an ASM approach from its side .. This kind of surprised me because I thought the original title contained "DOS and Linux" .. are there two books !?

So anyway .. if anyone could recommend some good books, tutorials, websites for beginners and not only (for Fuuuutureee reference) for x86 ASM under Linux I would highly appreciate it !

Thank you for your attention !

This Yahoo group has links to many Linux assembly resources.

Also, in the Files section, you can find many Linux assembly example programs, including how to code GTK application completely in assembly using NASM.
