according to this it is. But even if such a function did nothing more than convert from wchar_t* to char* and use that as the real filename, it would be better than nothing, at least for most western languages. I suppose other languages that require more than one byte for a character are out of luck.

Dinkum C99 Library
The C99 Draft (N869, 18 January, 1999)
These links do not mention wfopen either.

I am searching net like crazy and all I can come up with is these 2 sites :mad:. I was so close to buy the pdf version of C99 (I have C++ standard).
