The summer of coding!!! Check it out.
You start an open source project. You get 3 months to build one from scratch. If they like it, you get 4500 bucks. How's that sound??? Personally, I'm stuck on what to do. TRY and make 4500 bucks, or continue my summer with dev work for my game. 4500 does sound nice though. Peace out, Massive-war

I am so doing that... but what to do?
EDIT: No I'm not - from the mailing list: "There is an age floor. You have to be 18 or older." Last edited by Ooble; Jun 1st, 2005 at 8:16 PM. |

Sounds like a good idea. It's geared specificly toward students. Hopefully this will shape the future of OSS.

Wow... that is a really good idea! And a perfect way to open up the OSS community to students/individuals and increase its foundation at the same time.
And the fact that it was /.'d means you are likely up against a lot of competition. Is there a limit to the number of people who get the award?

Haha. I was about to do that until I saw Ooble's post. Oh well, I still have my projects that are hosted on sourceforge. The FOSS community will enjoy them soon enough anyways
